FW1999 3-4 Large Cable and Diamond Pullovers
Both of these spectacular sweaters put the 'avant' in avant-garde. The one on the left has a very unusual cable treatment, but if you can follow directions, you'll be fine; back and front are identical, and sleeves have a wide simple rib, so that's easy. The one on the right has an enormous diamond panel (charted) on front, back, and sleeves. Both have sloped shoulders and sleeves well set in. The original yarn for the left garment was 90% fine merino wool, 10% cashmere, 96 yds/87.78 metres to 50g, and gave the same gauge over st st as the first gauge given over pattern (k10, p1 rib) below. The yarn used on the right was 50% wool, 50% acrylic, 57 yds/52.12 metres to 50g, and yielded 15 sts to 4"/10cm in st st on 6mm/US10 needles.
