Leja: "Antonia, one of Hoffman’s four loves in Offenbach’s opera, Les Contes d’Hoffmann (The Tales of Hoffmann), is the fragile and melodramatic singer. Her shawl reflects the delicate and translucent quality of her character.
Offered in two versions, Antonia can be worked as a shoulder shawl (as pictured) or as a full-sized shawl. Worked in stepped stages to form a triangular shape, it can be easily sized and adapted to your preference. A top border worked with short rows adds shaping so that the shawl sits easily on the shoulders. Wear it pinned in a formal way or tie it at the front for a more casual look. The Antonia shawl is worked from the bottom to the long edge at the top. Its size can be altered to accommodate the amount of yarn you have available. The shoulderette version pictured uses only one 100 g. skein of a fingering weight yarn."
