Kim Dolce

for Dolce Handknits   2011

1104 St. Kilda

Full disclosure: after seeing this yoke stitch pattern in one of Barbara Walker's books ("Heraldic Pattern", she calls it, but Dolce says "Jewel Cross"), we were intrigued enough to make a baby blanket out of it and just loved everything it was. It's very easy and fun to work, surprisingly so, and the look is breathtaking. We are thrilled to see Dolce use it as she has. The armholes are not indented, and the sleeves are basically rectangles, so we're calling it a drop shoulder overall. Quite a stunning tunic. And if you haven't felt this yarn, you must, you must-- it lives up to its name.
