8949 Jacket (age 6 up)
WEB EXCLUSIVE

Simple, sumptuous, speedy. This jacket has sloped shoulders and set-in sleeves, and is conventionally made in the usual pieces. The ribbed collar is them picked up and knitted out; then you make two garter stitch front borders "of sufficient length to go evenly up front edge and along side edge of collar"-- how we love sensible instructions like this, instead of the confining "knit 47 ridges" or some such. The print is large and knitting easy. The Squiggle Super Chunky and Big Softie were introduced after this pattern, but work to the same gauge; just get that and you should be fine.
