3 Crocheted Utilitarian Faroese Shawl
This pattern brings the Faroese shawl to crocheters. It features the same characteristic construction that makes wearing it so effortless. You’ll discover that making it is just as effortless. You may also find that the pattern becomes an addiction. As you make the first one, you will quickly realize how easy it to customize. Make a short one to wear as a kerchief to cover just your shoulders, and a long one to keep you cozy on the coldest nights. Use a luxury yarn with a bit of shine and substitute a lacy stitch pattern for the plain double crochet, and you will have a shawl that will take you to a night on the town. Edge it with fringe or a fancy border, add beads or even embroidery to make it your own unique and beautiful creation. Perhaps as you wear it, you will even feel the pull of sisterhood with the original creators of this very special shawl.
