Eve's Ribs

Collared shrug with reversible wandering rib stitch worked over back and upper sleeves and open lace version of the same stitch worked over collar, fronts, and sleeve cuffs. Pattern includes 4 sleeve options: long narrow sleeves, long sleeves with a flared cuff, mid-length sleeves with a bell, and cap sleeves.

Construction: shrug is worked in one piece from the top down, with seams at sides and under arms. Long-sleeved versions use short rows to taper sleeves.

Shrugs shown are size 39-45 in gray (long sleeve), and 33-38 in nut (mid sleeve), both shown on a 36” bust. This shrug should be loose fitting, so if between sizes or if a longer back length is desired, going up a size is recommended.
Pattern instructions contain a discussion on modifications.

Note: This is an atypically shaped sweater, and a good fit requires a loosely knit fabric.
If making a yarn substitution, pick one that typically gets 19-20 sts per 4” in stockinette stitch.

This is an absolutely wonderful garment to knit; the pattern is easy to get into, but complicated enough to keep the attention. However it does come up VERY SMALL! I knitted one for my daughter, the second size, but it is too small for her in every degree. I have now got to knit it again in the next size!!!
