The original yarn was a novelty, 80% linen and 20% nylon, 118 yards/108 metres to 50g, 18 sts to 4" on a 4.5mm/US7. It was slubby, thick and thin. We've all seen yarns like this at the LYS and wondered what kind of beautiful thing you could make with them. The answer is before you. The lacy bodice is very lovely, but because of the yarn's construction, looks irregular-- like something constructed under water. It continues from the front over the back until the back neck shaping is completed. No waist shaping (though you could certainly add some if you liked); sleeves are beautifully set in. This design is Design 11 from a Spring/Summer 2004 book.
