Cardigan
WEB EXCLUSIVE

We love the multiple directions and stitches in this cardi. After a 2 x 2 rib, the back is all done in st st. The front is where are the fun is. You work the st st fronts first, then pick up perpendicularly along the edges and work in rib, then switch to the marvellous garter stitch shawl collar, shaped with short rows. (Wrapped, but the pattern does not specify whether you have to pick up the wraps or not-- it's not always necessary in garter stitch; you could try both ways on a swatch and see which you prefer.) Neither the Escape DK nor the Summer Stripes DK was around when this pattern was issued, but we think their long colour repeats would be perfect for this design; just get gauge. Sleeves are slightly set in.
