HMS505 Yummy Mittens
These Yummy Mittens are cushiony, being made of two layers! The outer right-hand mitten has an inner left hand mitten and vice versa. Optional short rows are incorporated into the finger area to follow the natural curve of the hand. Begin by casting on and knitting the inner mitten, then pick up sts from the provisional cast-on to knit the ribbing and then the outer mitten. By working in this sequence, it is easier to try on the inner mitten, which should fit the hand as you like it. The outer mitten is slightly larger due to the different gauge and can be worked to conform to the inner mitten by trying it on when necessary. Push the inner mitten up through the outer mitten, knitting the outer mitten around the inner mitten. This will give a better idea of how many rounds are needed each step of the way.
(Exceptionally well-written as always. Depending on your choice of yarns, this could be the mitten equivalent of a mink-lined raincoat-- Ed.)
