To our publishers and customers

[June 16, 2019] The site has now stopped selling patterns.

[April 30, 2019] After almost 11 successful years in business, Patternfish will cease selling patterns on 16 June, 2019.

We will continue to make our customers' stashes accessible to them to the end of 30 June, 2019, in order to provide them with time to save their purchased patterns to their personal hard drives.

Thank you all so very much for your enthusiastic support over the years.  It has meant an enormous amount to us.

1785 Sweater, Hat & Blanket (birth to 7 years)

This was a special request from a customer who is obviously very knowledgeable and has excellent taste. There's a lot of value for money here (three items for the price of one!), and the designs are fresh and warmly inviting. This kind of ribby shawl collar is a great boon to kids who cannot be persuaded to wear scarves all the time (i.e., most of them), and the three-dimensional quality of the stitch pattern seems duvet-like in its toastiness. Drop shoulder, but the sleeves have a slight cap. The stitch pattern involves a K1B every 4th row.

I checked your copy of the pattern and it opens ok for me. However, I have installed Adobe Reader and set it as my default application for opening PDF files. If you do that, I'm pretty confident that you will never meet a PDF file that you can't open properly. ;)

The reason for the problem is that the PDF spec is updated regularly and browser support for the PDF format can lag behind. So your browser can't open the PDF file since it doesn't recognize the format and as far as it know, that means that the file is broken. When you set Adobe Reader as your default application for PDF files, the browser will defer to it to open the file and Adobe Reader is updated every time a format change is made.

I also cannot print this pattern. The message said the file was corrupted and could not be repaired. Please advise.

Whichever program you use to open the PDF file will have a print command, usually under the 'File' menu.

I highly recommend getting Adobe Reader, free from Adobe, at as specified in the download instructions, and use that to open the file once you have downloaded it to your computer.
