Ashley Skirt (update 2010)

"Short and sassy or knee-length elegance describes this pleated skirt," says Van Stralen. "Both versions are knit from side to side, using short-rows and double wrapped stitches to form the pleats. The skirt is started with a crochet cast-on, then grafted together to create a seamless look. The waistband is then picked up and knit along the top edge." True, in the long version it's a lot of knitting. But it's the look! And what a skating skirt, or flirty summer number, the short version would be! And how much fun you can have with the colours! All heads will turn just to see you walk down the street.
