Cat's Eye Socks (Toe Up)
This sock is special not only because it's toe-up (more and more popular all the time), but because of the warm-weather appeal of the openwork pattern. One is just generally better off wearing socks in shoes, but too much heat can be an issue. Ogle has you start with a crochet provisional cast on at the toe, and work up, with as much of the instep and cuff as possible as aerated as possible. The result is a terrifically comfortable sock with lots of give, and it's really pretty to look at, too.
