for Robin Hunter Designs   2011

Evelyn Howard

Evelyn Howard is a wide, shallow garter stitch based triangle scarf/shawl. It has lace edges that are knit at the same time as the body. The scarf is knit from corner to corner. What makes this scarf unusual is that the lace edging is on all three sides of the garter stitch triangle and the scarf is completely reversible. It is designed to be made with any amount of yarn in any gauge so it could easily be adapted to a larger shawl size.

(Genius-- could anything be more universally appealing? Gauges given over garter stitch-- Ed.)

Designer note: The staff at Patternfish have been asking me where my pattern names come from. The names I've used to date are almost all characters in Agatha Christie mysteries. Evelyn Howard is a character in Christie's first published novel, introducing Hercule Poirot, "The Mysterious Affair at Styles".
