5840 Hats and Gloves (age 1 - adult man)
WEB EXCLUSIVE

You could easily make an argument that if you only ever bought one hat/glove/mitten pattern, this should be it. First, the size range is incredible. Second, DK weight yarn (typically 22 sts to 4"/10cm on a US6/4mm needle) is one of the most common weights in the world. Third, all of these pieces are knit flat and seamed, for those who don't care (or aren't ready) for knitting in the round. Fourth, the sheer variety of styles-- everyone will find something to please them. Fifth, you only have to know how to knit and purl. One of the Mother Patterns from which others might be descended. Tension/gauge varies amongst the projects; first gauge is for hats, second for gloves/mitt.
