10-014 One Step at a Time Shawl (Crochet)
As the title says, this shawl is made one stepped section at a time. The foundation chain is at the bottom of the shawl and two pattern blocks wide. Adding chains at the beginning and the end of the row once per repeat adds width and height. The stairstep edges are an unusual variation on a traditional triangular shawl shape.
This pattern is also available in the book The Crocheted Prayer Shawl Companion by Janet Bristow and Victoria Cole-Gallo, Taunton Press, 2010.
