52 Stocking Cap & Mittens (infants through adults)

"DK weight pattern for infants right through to adults," says Silverman. "Choose from patterned or plain, or even better do the plain pattern with a jacquard sock yarn." 'Jacquard' in this case meaning anything variegated, with a long or short repeat-- or a hand-dyed piece of art-- or whatever you like. A delightful introduction to fair isle knitting and corrugated ribbing both, with no 'carries' of more than 5 stitches. Start with a cap, and you shouldn't necessarily even have to worry about 'trapping' the yarn not in use. Great fun, and good-looking, for winter.
