Doris Chan

for Tahki Stacy Charles   2006

13 and 14 Woman and Girl's Poncho (crochet)

We are thrilled to see such a simple idea rendered so beautifully and elegantly. Here Chan has taken a glorious thick, plush, space-dyed merino and seems to make an actual crystal formation out of it. We know from having read the instructions that it's crocheted from the neck down to the hem, and yet it looks like it sprang directly from nature somehow-- either as a mineral or some kind of magnificent flower. Incredibly quick to work, this is an ennobling piece for any wardrobe. Gauge is 5 sts - 4"/10cm on a P hook in Single Crochet; American crochet terminology.
