5 Sakonnet Bonnet (birth to 6 months)

"Easy baby bonnet for newborn to 6 months," says Silverman. "Add some novelty yarn for fun." We are racking our brains trying to find a better use for oddments and are coming up empty. The 'Plain' version doesn't use novelty yarns; the 'Fancy' version does. The little eyelets are of the most elementary construction, the most basic lace possible. These bonnets are knit flat, with the earflaps picked up and knit down from the brim. Given all these lovely little features, these are wonderful beginner projects-- perhaps to teach older sibs to knit for their new young brother or sister?
