B02 Cool Knitters Finish in Style (eBook)
To call this masterful book a 'reworking' of Neatby's previous Taking the Chequered Flag: Finishing in Style is to drastically understate the case. It is in every respect a reference work of the first order (having taught finishing for years, often from the old version of this book, we are competent to judge). One of the best things about it is that is really does teach you to 'read' your knitting-- to tell exactly what you've done, and where-- an invaluable skill, and one that Neatby makes almost inevitable through her 'challenge' swatch offerings. Make the 'Challenge Cardigan', too, just to prove you are the boss of your knitting; you'll likely never think fearfully of anything knitting-related again. There's a vast deal covered here: Japanese and classic short rows, all manner of seams, steeking, critiquing your pattern before you start (ah, wisdom), and on and on. Hand-done drawings abound. Book is 178 pages, with an 8.5" x 6.5" page size. We recommend printing out only those pages relevant to your situation at any time, to save paper!
