Serendipity Vest

"Serendipity leads this simple slip stitch pattern around mitered corners on this charming vest," says Mason-Jamieson. "The result is a stunning, sophisticated design that you’ll wear everywhere. Knit in 3 colors, with no breaks in the yarn, and trimmed with a complementary slip stitch edging." The designer is a renowned teacher with a very pronounced aesthetic: great interest in the knitting techniques themselves, and that interest involving colourplay. This vest is made in two pieces-- the left back/ front, and the right back/front. All seams except the shoulders are finished using the Japanese 3-needle bind off (fully explained), and the finishing is carefully plotted for you ("nobody needs a horizontal red line around their hips!"). Intriguing to make and rewarding to wear.
