This type of garment seems to be evolving into a classic very rapidly, with good reason. Here there is only a front and a back, and a glorious deep ribbed cowl (the British say 'polo neck' for turtleneck) picked up and knit out. There is no provision for armholes at all; their ribbing is just picked up and knit out, too. The only shaping is at the shoulders and front neck. So this allows even a comparative newbie to concentrate on the pretty elegant cable hem, and cable panel up the front. The whole piece lands up looking rather majestic.
