1897 Cardigans (birth to 7 years)

In these designs, Sirdar has once again hit the bell square on with a resounding clang. They are marvellous basic pieces: the plain-cut V-neck always looks polished with its straight lines, and the little shawl collar frames a slightly rounded V. Sides are straight, shoulders shaped, and the armholes have a gentle curve (as do the sleeve caps). The double moss yoke is repeated on the back of the pieces. These styles look splendid on boys or girls, in solids or tweeds or heathers or any of the yarns listed below.

A circular needle is suggested to knit the button border and shawl collar, however, it can be knit on a straight needle.
