QHS55 Blossom Shrug

There's something deeply soothing, but also involving, about gazing at a fabric with this kind of repetitive lace pattern. It's the visual equivalent of listening to some Bach pieces. You see (hear) the basic melody repeated over and over, but the whole thing has an impact and importance above its individual elements. Huang always chooses particularly beautiful individual lace elements to repeat over her shrugs, uncommon ones, so you're surprised as well as intrigued. Here once again you make a rectangular lace field and then sew it (easily) into a shrug shape. "Yarn," says Huang, "is worsted or medium weight, approximately 900/1000/1100 yards. Design is shown in mercerized cotton."

Also this shrug is perfect for wedding dress!
