Kathy Zimmerman

for Kollage Yarns   2010

3654 Line 'Em Up Scarf

You look at this and see the gloss and the drape of the extraordinary yarn and think, "Silk." But it's 50% milk, 50% soy: Kollage likes to surprise. And Zimmerman understands the yarn completely. She has put together a beautiful, unusual combination of 5-stitch rope cables at the scarf edges and a combination of rope and branch cabling down the centre of the scarf (including selvage stitches, of course). The knits and purls are perfectly balanced, so especially in a yarn as soft and calm as this one is, there should be no biasing or edge-curling. Normal st st gauge for this yarn is given below, but note that it's after washing.
