82481 New Knitter "Poncho"

"Poncho"? Not really. It's a big vest (meant to be really oversized) that's made in two pieces-- the back a pure rectangle, the front a rectangle with crew neck shaping. Then you sew the shoulders together; we advise newbies to look up how to do a three-needle cast off and do that. Pick up stitches around the neck (yes, in the round) and finish it off; then sew two buttons through both layers of fabric on the lower part of each side (no need for buttonholes). This is one of the New Knitter series from Reynolds, designed to be easy to read and work from, and it really is.
