for Classic Elite Yarns   1997

418 Point D'Esprit

This is one of those iconic pieces that the Knitting History Major recognizes instantly. It is the more rare for being a summer pullover, not a cold weather garment. What is there to say? It's all here: interesting to make; you can wear it alone or over something; it's drapey, pretty, light, flattering.

Classic Elite originally showed it in Willough, which is no longer available. But they point out that their mercerized, washable Provence cotton "will give successful results". Company-supplied errata included current at May 2008.
