Kristin Nicholas

for Classic Elite Yarns   1992

400 Cornwall Coverlet
WEB EXCLUSIVE

When Nicholas offers an homage to classic woven coverlet motifs (but done in fair isle), you can bet her approach will be distinctive. And it is. Here she has you start at the back welt and work up over the shoulder and down the front, with only neck shaping to worry about. Then you sew the (straight) side and sleeve seams, and that's it for seaming. Note that the men's and women's body pattern motifs are different-- major fun. The pattern's difficulty rating is only because of the construction method. Tapestry is extinct, but Renaissance or Summer Set or Chesapeake should serve well if you get gauge.
