Kristin Nicholas

Farmgirls' Stocking Cap

Nicholas's colour sense has really changed the whole handknitting world over the years. Her exuberance, confidence, and wit is contagious to the onlooker-- and knitter. This hat is typical of her. It is impossible to see this (or knit it, for that matter) without smiling. And her patterns are a joy to follow, but also to read for themselves; she writes as though she were having coffee with you while you're both knitting, and embellishes the patterns with her own beautiful colourful drawings, as well as stories about her life on her farm. Empowering and charming at the same time.
