Kathy Gargiulo

Bulky Cabled Hat

"Bulky Cabled Hat is a good 'first cable project' for those who are comfortable with circular knitting and want to learn to work cables," says Gargiulo. "The hat is worked in the round on a circular needle up to the crown decreases, at which point double pointed needles will be used. No seams required! A bulky yarn, or two strands of worsted weight yarn held together, will give the required gauge. Try knitting with one strand each of two different worsted weight yarns (maybe a wool and alpaca of the same colour? Mmmmm... Ed.) for a great look." Great for men or women, and very fast to make.
