Turkish Motifs Pillow
This gorgeous pillow, featured in House & Garden in January 2003, is tremendously satisfying to knit; it's a mini-workshop in all kinds of knitting styles and embellishment. There's a vast deal of fair isle and intarsia and duplicate stitch-- even embroidered cross stitch and bullion knots. In this, it combines every good feature of knitting and needlepoint-- it's relaxing and portable and unboring. And because it's Nicholas, it's a spectacular addition to a home when done. Original yarn is no longer available, but the designer suggests her Julia yarn, a glorious wool/mohair/alpaca blend. The only 'sewing' is attaching a backing.
