Shawn Glidden
for Acme Knits 2011
5038 Wrapped in Camel
Knit on the diagonal using a new method I’ve been playing with, this shawl is a rectangle measuring 52" long x 21" wide. Size is easily changed to fit your needs, as long as you remember to adjust the amount of yarn you will need.
Uses 4 skeins total - 2 skeins of each color.
The fabric is sort of like garter stitch and sort of like ribbing, having hills and valleys, or raised stitches and lower stitches. It’s fun to do and oh so easy.
This pattern uses yarn overs, and knitting and purling stitches together to create the shaping.
(Glidden has two other patterns that use this unique technique, her Falling Leaves Shawlette and Anna Dorothy Shawl--ed.)
- In Camel by Silk Road NorthWoods
- In Sockittome by Cherry Tree Hill
