FT401e Felt Vest
In the pantheon of basics that every knitter should make and have in his/her wardrobe, this shines. It's a very simple style but with some great details. There's waist shaping (to give some silhouette definition to an otherwise solid fabric), and the front edges are cut away slightly for a slimming effect. The whole thing is worked as one piece, which is fun, and therefore there's no sewing because you cast off the shoulders together. Obviously the possibilities for main and contrast colours are endless, so that's a huge playground to be in. Just make sure you're working with a non-superwash yarn and go mad.
