Kendra Nitta

"'True' knitted lace-- that is, where both right-side and wrong-side rows contain pattern stitches-- can be daunting for those new to lace knitting," observes Nitta. "However, working in the round means every row is a right-side row, which makes Hanae a great introduction to the gentle art of true knitted lace. Wear it slouchy, as in the photo, or block it over a 12-inch plate and wear it as a tam. You can also decrease or increase the amount of slouch by working Chart B fewer or more times." First gauge is for smaller hat; second for larger.
