BBF001 Faithful Companion Scarf

"Unisex lace scarf," begins Sulcoski, "knit in one skein of sock-weight (fingering wt.) yarn. It's a perfect first lace project, as all wrong-side rows are purled and the lace rows are straightforward." Designing a lace scarf for a man would daunt many a lesser talent than Sulcoski, but she pulls it off beautifully here: the regular, geometric repeat, garter stitch borders, and eyelet columns eschew curves entirely, and somehow all the straight lines add up to masculinity, even though achieved with 'lace'. Stitch pattern is written out only, not charted.
