Ripple Brim Chemo Cap

This is a basic workhorse of a hat, but with a little frill at the bottom to keep it interesting. Knit it in a cool cotton for warm climates, or a supersoft wool for cooler ones. Add your own colorwork or textured stitches to the body to spice things up a bit. However you do it, this hat is stylish and comfortable for those needing a little bit of glamour during treatment (and afterwards), but has enough interest to keep the knitter coming back to it as a standard pattern.

Instructions are given for DK weight yarn at a 6spi gauge with modifications for 5spi and 4spi to facilitate heavier yarns and/or looser gauges.

A portion of the proceeds from sales of this pattern support the NC Cancer Hospital. This hat was designed in honor of Elizabeth, Elsie, Carolyn, Vivian, Peggy, Debra, Natalie, Jessica, and all the other women in my life who have needed hats like this one, even if only metaphorically.
