Baby and Toddler Alpine Toque

This is just about the purest and simplest approach to a Nordic fair isle toque imaginable. There's no complicated chart to follow (indeed, no chart at all), just some of the easiest fair isle work around. As such, this would be an ideal first in-the-round fair isle project; it has only one round in which you have a four-stitch carry-- never more than that. Pattern writes out the hat pretty much round by round. The little rib pattern carrying up to the crown is lovely; the little pompom (instructions not included, but easily found on the internet) a lovable touch at the top.
