Jess Oas

for Nashua Handknits

Honeycomb Stitch Raglan

A gorgeous sweater, with all the hallmarks of masterful design from someone just at the beginning of her career. Oas is careful to carry her side ribs directly up the side from the ribbed hem, and to incorporate them into her raglan sleeves-- very unusual, very sophisticated, very knitterly. This particular approach (and raglans in general, and the overall honeycomb pattern) tends to accentuate the bosom. So be warned, have fun knitting it, and use its power wisely. The Julia yarn (wool, alpaca, mohair) is fantastically touchable, if anyone outside the sweater gets that lucky. From the Study booklet by Nashua Handknits.
