Chris de Longpre

for Knitting at KNoon   2009

"A classic V-necked vest, as comfortable as it is handsome," avers De Longpre. "'Textured' stripes climb from hem to shoulder." After Spike, of course there has to be a Giles (and a Xander, too). This vest is certainly something Giles would have worn in the Sunnydale library: industrious and sober-looking, it's knit in the round to the armholes and then split for front and back. Shoulders are joined with a 3-needle bind-off; ergo, no sewing. The 'stripe' pattern is a very simple affair having to do with slipped stitches. Armholes are nicely shaped; back neck not at all.
