MM-33 Achtland

A beautiful, thoughtful mitten with twisted stitch ladders, bobbles, and cables to intrigue the traditionalist. All stitch patterning is charted (though not written out). Thumb is done in a 1 x 1 rib, a natural, organic echo of the bigger 2 x 2 ribbing at the wrist. The intensity of the patterning would be overwhelming in much heavier yarns; but in this lovely classic Shetland the look is perfectly appropriate. The mitten appears 'crowned' by purl ridges before the decreases, like a chimney cap; it's non-standard and amusing.
