for Dana Gervais Designs
Sometimes you need a simple, reliable sock on the needles that looks beautiful but requires no active thought on the part of the knitter. Don't underestimate the powers of comfort-knitting. It's meditative to pick up your needles and turn off your brain while you let yourself be soothed by the rhythmic clicking of the needles and the familiar, repetitive hand movements of each stitch and each round. Some days, comfort knitting is the only thing that keeps me grounded and in touch with myself.
Say hello to your new comfort-knitting sock pattern.
Hippie Chic socks combine a contemporary yet classic stitch pattern (it's garter stitch with a few slipped stitches thrown in for fun), and traditional cuff-down sock construction with a heel flap and gussets heel construction. The lines of slipped stitches make this a great pattern for variegated or striped yarns. Instructions are included for 4 circumferences and foot length is customizable. And, like all of my patterns, the instructions are needle neutral to accommodate your preferred needle style and method for working in the round.
This pattern was previously available exclusively as part of the Apple Tree Knits Fall 2017 collection, but is now available on Patternfish.
