Japanese Motif Cowl

Motifs borrowed from antique Japanese fabrics, adapted by me for knitting and worked in a soft wool and alpaca blend fingering weight yarn. Stranded and then folded over at the picots (one for the top and one for the bottom edge), the cast on edge is grafted to the last row of knitting (instructions for grafting live stitches to a cast on edge are included - as well a link to a YouTube video that shows the process).

The cowl can be worn with either side out and will keep you warm when it is most needed.

There are two PDFs to be downloaded - the pattern PDF contains the materials needed, gauge, accessories and general instructions and the chart PDF has the charted motifs.
