Kristin Nicholas

for Classic Elite Yarns   1990

319 Holly Golightly
WEB EXCLUSIVE

Big soft cowl-necked sweaters are always in demand, and here Nicholas presents two versions of a drop-shouldered style. One (seen on the right) has straight lines throughout except at front neck, and the other (on the left) is much closer-fitting at the waist, then increases up to accommodate the chest. Applause was La Gran run together with a novelty silk/rayon blend; you may be able to approximate the look today by using Moorland with La Gran (just be sure to get gauge). Both back and front necks are shaped for maximum comfort and drape. If you can knit and purl, you can make these easily.
