018 Appleby Sweater

I wanted to design something that was low on concentration, so I could watch the TV while I knitted, but still create a sweater that was strong on style.

This sweater is the result.

It's worked flat in four pieces, and it's all made in stockinette/stocking stitch.

Two shades of the same color play supporting roles to the contrast stripes that add the 'pop' to this design. The stripes are placed at the chest and upper arm to add visual width to this area, and to focus the eye on the upper body.

The sleeves are set-in to give a good fit without bulk at the shoulder and armhole.

A high turtle neck finishes this sweater.

This sweater is designed to fit with 2 in/5 cm positive ease; choose a size that is 2 in/5 cm larger than the wearer’s chest measurement. A larger size can be chosen if a looser fit is wanted.

The pattern is fully written out and a schematic is included.
