Kristin Nicholas

for Classic Elite Yarns   1992

419 Lands End Labyrinth
WEB EXCLUSIVE

This celebrated design graces the cover of Knitting the New Classics by Kristin Nicholas. While all lines except the front neck are straight, there are nevertheless two versions. The first, the women's smock, is made in Willough at a st st gauge of 20 to 4"/10cm; the man's is in Cambridge, at a st st gauge of 18 to 4"/10cm. Both yarns were originally at least 60% cotton, and you can see that in the drape of the pieces. Now you would substitute Summer Set for the Willough, and Renaissance for the Cambridge, which will give you cables with beautiful definition and spring.
