8202 Eccentric Chevrons!
WEB EXCLUSIVE

This indispensable pattern is actually three variations on the 'eccentric' chevron idea. The first (shown in main photo), says designer Bryant, is "designed to dip gracefully in the back... this subtly-shaped shawl will fit comfortably on your shoulders. Since each row is cut and tied to the next to create fringe as you work, feel free to use as many colors as you like!" And don't forget the odd oddment, people! The Rectangular Wrap (shown in violets) is worked traditionally sideways, and can function more as a scarf; the Symphony version (model in teal sweater), "with its larger gauge, makes a quicker knit you’ll be wearing even sooner. Worked in mostly stockinette instead of garter, the stripes read more cleanly but are punctuated with occasional rows of garter for emphasis. Worked as the Merino Mia version on the other side, this wrap also has a slight dip in the back. Limiting the color range allows us to skip the fringe, as you are never carrying more than two strands up an edge." Altogether, this is a reference pattern you will use for the rest of your life.
