No Bother Slipper Boots

Slippers are meant to be easy to make: and these are so simple and fast to make that they are no bother at all. They also have the advantage of an interesting and novel construction; top down, in the round and seamless yet with no picking up of stitches or short rows and no heel to turn. Just knit all the way.

Plus these are no bother to wear; they stay on well. And because they are thick and cosy enough to keep your feet warm on the coldest of stone floors (and they can even be worn one inside another for those with princess feet) your feet won’t be bothering you either.

**Sizing**

These are actual foot sizes. Choose the size closest to your actual size (the pattern contains negative ease)

To fit foot sizes:
19cm-20.5/7 ½-8in in circumference and foot length 22-23cm/8 ¾ -9in
21-22cm/8 ¼ - 8 ¾ in circumference and foot length 23.5-24.5cm/9 ¼ -9 ¾ in
23-24cm/9-9 ½ in circumference and foot length 25.5-26.5cm/10-10 ½
25-25.5cm/9 ¾ -10 in circumference and foot length 27-28cm/10 ¾ -11 in

The pattern also contains a basic % formula for custom sizing.

A couple of points on fit: there's quite a lot of negative ease built in to make these fit close like a sock and the cuff is meant to be really quite close fitting to hold the boot up firmly. If you are on the borderline for a size or are near the top end of a size and want to wear them with an extra pair of socks, consider making the next size up, particularly if your yarn has less give than pure wool.

**Yarn choices and yardage**

Two of my samples use 100% wool in aran weight yarn held double. The third is a mostly acrylic yarn with a touch of mohair and alpaca, again aran held double. Whatever yarn you choose do aim for a really firm fabric in a fibre that will withstand wear. If using worsted yarn rather than aran look for a heavy worsted with a wpi of 8. Chunky or even super chunky yarn held single may is also possibilty at this gauge. In fact if you are comfortable with adjusting for gauge you can easily use the percentage recipe to adjust the stitch count for any yarn. This pattern looks great with a striped sole and is also fun in self-striping yarns.

Yardage is for aran yarn held double:
19cm-20.5/7 ½-8in in: 150yds/135m
21-22cm/8 ¼ - 8 ¾ in: 200yds/185m
23-24cm/9-9 ½ in: 225yds/205m
25-25.5cm/9 ¾ -10 in: 255yds/235m

**Skills and techniques**
This is a very easy knit.
Knitting in the round: pattern is written for one needle magic loop, but you may substitute two circulars. DPNs are not recommended.
Grafting on the sole.
