Small Japanese Knot bag

This version of a Knot bag is a small gift pouch size, ideal for jewelry or a special little gift.
It has a flat circular base which means it will sit up properly and look enticing when it’s full!
This simple knot bag fascinated me when I first spotted a beautiful version made from vintage kimono fabric.
I just had to see if I could replicate the smooth curves and interesting knotted loop closure. The large loop passes through the small loop to close the bag and the felt folds gently to give the great curves.
This bag is a great stash buster as it uses so little yarn and lends itself well to stripes.
This bag is knitted first and then felted by washing at 40 degrees to shrink the fibers into felt.
My pattern includes detailed instructions to guide you through felting your project.
