8163 Waistcoat and Slipover

With a big, chunky, unusual yarn you need simple, simple patterns, and these are just that. There's waist shaping in both so you look as tailored as possible, and the shoulders are cut so that you have almost a V-look going down to the hip-- strangely slimming in a yarn this chunky. The crew neck on the slipover is worked in a 2 x 2 rib for 3 cm (just over an inch), then bound off; but if you continued on up for 4" or more, you'd have a nifty kind of 'Sharon Stone' look and a mock turtleneck that would be extremely effective and attractive, too.
