To our publishers and customers

[June 16, 2019] The site has now stopped selling patterns.

[April 30, 2019] After almost 11 successful years in business, Patternfish will cease selling patterns on 16 June, 2019.

We will continue to make our customers' stashes accessible to them to the end of 30 June, 2019, in order to provide them with time to save their purchased patterns to their personal hard drives.

Thank you all so very much for your enthusiastic support over the years.  It has meant an enormous amount to us.

SRK 180 Weekend Jacket

Distinctive and dashing and very easy. The main body of this coat is worked from side to side, which of course enables the yarn's variegations to run vertically up your body and lengthen it (as well as your legs-- wear boots!). The armholes are just notches, and the stitch pattern doesn't get more complicated than combinations of garter stitch and knit/purl. And yet it has a rich tapestry effect that's intensely pleasing. No size takes more than 5 balls of this democratically-priced yarn. This design originally appeared in Knit 'N Style magazine.

help????? i am a fairly NEW knitter. I am confused about the 'Pattern Stitch".
Is it :
Cast on 15sts.
Row 1: *K1, p1; repeat from * to end
Row 2: purl to last st, k1
Row 3: K2, *p1, k1: rep to end
Row 4: purl to last stitch, k1

this seems to make sense to me as the Knit12 part of the pattern creates the 'bottom edge'?

The pattern states a thin yarn of category 3? Yet everything else says bulky 5? I take it the 3 on the pattern is a mistake?
