UKHKA91 Cardigan and Waistcoat (2 preemie - age 2)

Was there ever such a call to play with colour! Here you need so special skills at all, just an interest in a well-dressed young one... and perhaps a stash of part-balls or oddments in various colours to help you out. The bodies of these pieces are A-line, bell-shaped, which of course is an advantage when the young person's bottom might be larger than usual because of a diaper or training pants. The hood is always a welcome feature-- unlike a separate hat, it can't get lost, and looks darned cute. The waistcoat adds a dress-up note to any outfit, no matter how zany it may look on its own. Any style of yarn is welcome here.

From the publisher: "The main aim of the UK Hand Knitting Association (UKHKA) is to raise the profile of hand knitting. It does this through 'Learn to Knit' classes held throughout the UK, 'Relax and Knit' stands at all the principal UK Knitting and Sewing shows, and by the introduction of National Competitions showcased at the Knitting and Sewing shows." To this end, no specific yarn is recommended-- just choose the appropriate weight of something you like and make sure you meet the gauge requirements.
